Last century, especially after decolonization and taking those spaces as references, we started to refer to and to study "endogenous", "indigenous", "subjugated" knowledge, very often simply named "know how". In the more developed countries this issues were systematically ignored, and, although Michael Polyani has theorized about tacit knowledge in 1966, it was not until the nineties of the twentieth century, that he became more widely recognized, although still not acknowledge by researchers, managers and politicians. Today, these concepts are gaining epistemological citizenship. Researchers from different sciences are discovering the importance of the diversity of knowledge originated by the most diverse cultures within time, contributing therefore positively to new discoveries and to the relativism of scientific knowledge born in greco-latin and jewish-christian culture. To some people, those more associated with the business world, taking advantage of this form of knowledge starts to be part of their strategy of innovation and competition. To others this might take the form of an abusive patents register of several knowledge and practices that were part of the millenary patrimony of several peoples. To some people it is even starting to be part of a research field, of which we know little. It is, thus, important to know this reality, how it is expressed, and its importance in the daily life of peoples and its evolution tendencies in this world so much oriented towards uniformitarian. Endogenous knowledge are particularly visible, important and politically meaningful in moments of rupture, and profound social transformation. The independence processes in Africa represent moments of expression of the endogenous capacities and of valuing of these resources, becoming a fertile ground for the construction of the future. Endogenous knowledge and the several fields were they are expressed in the construction of the future in Africa, make us consider their importance in Education, in the preservation of living languages, in medicine, agriculture, economy and in several cultural expressions. The importance of this conference, besides the debate and exchange of ideas between participants, is focused in the different possible assessments of how different African countries were capable of granting the construction of their future in all dimensions.
